The New & Improved Micro PI CamStick is Finally Here!

For the past couple of years our Original Micro PI CamStick has been one of our top selling products. The combination of its tiny size and ease of use helped make it a customer favorite. The "gadget appeal" is right up there with many of the devices you've seen in any James Bond 007 movie.

We now bring you to the next generation Micro PI CamStick PRO. High-end features like the Vox recording mode let you record only when ambient sound levels reach 60 decibels or greater. It has a lower light requirement than its predecessor allowing you to capture video under conditions where the original CamStick would provide nothing more than a blank screen.

With its excellent 640 x 480 (VGA) high resolution and full 30 FPS recording the CamStick PRO is poised to blow the original model out of the water. We'll let you be the judge with the following videos.

Another benefit to the CamStick PRO is its recording format. The CamStick PRO records in standard AVI format which will play on nearly any computer. The original CamStick used 3GP compression which is the same format used when you record video on your cell phone. The problem is that most computers do not have a 3GP decoder already installed.

The Micro PI CamStick PRO comes with mounting options for many applications including a removable belt/pocket clip, neck strap, and dashboard mount. The dashboard mount is a nice feature which will let you record either inside the car or out of the car window.

All in all the new Micro PI CamStick PRO is highly superior to the original CamStick. We invite you to check out more of our products as well as the full list of CamStick features at our website http://www.DynaSpy.com.

  1. This is by far one of the coolest most versatile camcorder I ever used. First of all the size is perfect and when you hold it in your hand it doesn’t fell like a piece of crap. Let’s talk about all the things you can do with it. It’s a web cam, a spy cam, a great vacation camera. The fact that you don’t have to carry a bulky camcorder is great. This can also be used as a security device. The unit has a voice activated switch (VOX) that lets the camera go into a stand-by mode then when sound is detected the camera starts recording till the sound stops for more then two minuets and then returns to stand by mode. That makes it perfect for leaving in a hotel room to keep an eye on your stuff. All in all it’s a great little device.

  2. 2 questions: does this new Micro PI Camstick have a glow button on it that gives it away?; and, does a local area Verizon FiOS network still cause total static competing on that 2.4 GHz channel?

  3. 1: The new Micro PI CamStick PRO has a tiny indicator light on the top of the unit so it will not give it away. It is recessed so you have to look directly at it from the top or you won't see the light at all.

2: Any WiFi signal will cause interference with a 2.4GHz camera. The new 802.11n protocol runs on the 5GHz spectrum but you must disable backwards compatibility for 802.11a, b, and g otherwise the router will still output 2.4GHz in addition to the n protocol's 5GHz output. The 5GHz signal may still interfere with a 2.4GHz camera but if it does it will be significantly less than a 2.4GHz WiFi signal.

I hope this helped. Thank you for your comment!

  4. I set up the FLOOD LIGHT CAM the over the weekend. This think is so cool. You have complete control over all settings. Distance for cam opp. Sensitivity of activation, Thee modes for at home, extended absence mode (vacation) And commercial mode. You cAn set it foe video or snap shots. It even has a audio feature that lets you have a door bell ring, a dog bark, or two recorded announcements that you make your self. All this for the price of a regular motion light. Oh yah It come with the 300 watt haligine bulb and a 2 gig memery card. I love it.

  5. What kind of battery life can I expect and/or is the battery replaceable at some point if it dies?

  6. You can expect about an hour of battery life during recording. The battery is not user accessible so if it dies you will need to replace the unit. However, the battery is Lithium Polymer which lasts much longer than the Lithium Ion cell phone batteries which tend to die after a while.

  7. What resolution does this cam have at 35'? At what distance is a face no longer clear? What sort of down load program does this require to replay the recorded video? Which battery pack and recharger do you sell that will power it for a min. four hour period? Thx, 1911's since 1965

  8. Bought one of the 007 cams with the vertical pointing lens from you a while back. Worked well. However, at the moment it seems like it might be 'confused'. Is there any type of manual reset for these things - button push sequence or something?

  9. I'd probably want one of these if it had a user accessible/replaceable battery. If the built-in battery dies in the middle of the day, you're stuck.

  10. We do carry a car charger and will be offering a 'AA' battery quick charger that will give you an extra 30 minutes or so. Other than that it is not meant to be used for hours every day.

  11. Are there any plans to have logic that senses low battery and saves the video before power runs out. This way you do not lose you're recording. It seems like the manufacturer is listening to feedback. This is a major issue since the battery life is short. If they could do this it would be great.

  12. Yes, this issue is being researched and will be addressed in the near future.

  13. Does this cam run on a computer, what would I need to do if it does

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yes, you plug it in using the supplied USB cable and it will charge the camera as well as let you download the videos to your computer. They use a standard video format that will run on almost any computer, even Macs. Everything you need is included.

  15. I don't know if you are familiar with "Mr. Lee", a cat in Germany, whose owner tricked out a spy cam that took photos at set intervals. The owner wanted to know what the cat did with his day. I looked for a unit online, but there is only one company that makes something like it, and it has very bad reviews.

I have a cat who goes off for 3 or 4 hours at a time. I live on a busy street, so I really wonder where he goes when he takes off. (He shoots out the door like a cannon and I can't catch him before he's over the fence.)

Do you have a product that could be set for timed photos that is sufficiently small to put on a cat's collar? I see you have small video cameras, too. Do you think one of those would work mounted on a cat collar? (He's a large cat - about 15 pounds, fwiw.)

  16. how is it in low light situtions,an just how much light does it need for a good video to be had?

    ReplyDelete
  17. The Micro PI Camstick Pro is actually very good for recording in low-light conditions. I would describe adequate light as "bar room lighting." Of course, more light will provide a clearer image.

  18. Does standby time count as recording time re drain on the battery?
